Enchanting Tips For Styling A Rustic Winter Wedding

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… to say ‘We Do’! It’s no wonder that Winter is becoming one of the most popular seasons to tie the knot. Today we’re showing you how you can create a rustic winter wedding with lots festival foliage, wooden elements and a sprinkling of magic. This heart-warming wedding theme is cosy, stylish and the perfect way to embrace the season.

Candles are a must-have at any Winter wedding and they’ll effortlessly add a dash of rustic charm to your celebrations. They’re also necessary for ensuring there is a warm and romantic glow throughout your wedding venue, as it will get darker much earlier than usual. We suggest dotting a variety of tea lights, candle sticks and large pillar candles along wooden trestle tables, around any fireplaces and along the windowsills. You could even use place them around the entrance of your wedding venue so you capture the magic of Winter as soon as your guests arrive.

Festival wreaths are hugely popular when it comes to home décor, but have you ever considered using one for your wedding day? Winter wreaths are extremely versatile and they can be minimalist or as OTT as you wish, so they can easily adapt to your style. They can be used in lots of different ways too, from unique chair covers to props for your photographs. Alternatively, you could simply hang one on the entrance of your wedding venue.

Chances are, it’s going to get pretty chilly, so make sure your guests stay warm and cosy. Why not create your very own DIY Winter drinks station? We recommend serving mulled wine or scrumptious hot chocolate. Your drink station will go down an absolute treat with your guests and it will help to decorate your wedding venue. It’s stylish and useful – what’s not to love?!

We also love the idea of providing your guests with wooden crates or wicker baskets full of warm rugs, shawls and knits. They’re a fabulous idea if your guests want to snuggle up in the evening and they make a fun alternative to traditional wedding favours. Why not have a chalkboard sign saying ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ – your guests will adore the little touches.

Add a rustic touch to your celebrations by using wooden tree slices throughout your wedding décor. You can use them as alternative charger plates for your place settings, or you could use them as part of your table centrepieces and even as a base for your wedding cake.

If you are truly stuck for ideas for rustic wedding favours, why not create mini wooden tree slices for your guests? Engrave the name of the guest on each tree slice and they can take them home after the big day. They can also double up as place cards and they’ll help to transform your wedding reception tables.

We suggest using an abundance of leafy foliage and greenery throughout your wedding day. Not only is greenery still the most favoured wedding trend, it will add heaps of style to your celebrations. For instance, you could decorate your tables with a foliage garland, or wrap leafy greenery around the beams of your venue. A sprig of Holly or Eucalyptus will add a lovely festive touch to your place settings too. You can also use foliage and greenery to decorate your wedding table plan, it’ll be an easy way to show your guests to their seats in true style!
