How to style a Winter Wedding

Winter Weddings have become increasingly popular over the years, mainly due to the save in costing with venues. Of course you aren’t going to get sunshine, but you will get the fresh crisp winter air and winter colours for your wedding day.
Wedding Venue
The sky is your limit when it comes to venue choice in the winter. Sussex offers many venues to choose from including barns, manor houses and village halls. A barn venue in West Sussex called Southend Barns offers a warm homely feel, yet modern vintage look. The venue is styled with warm outdoor heaters and cosy blankets to keep your guests warm.
Wedding Colours
So many colour options to choose from, but ‘tis the season when your beautiful deep reds and ivory colours come out. Burgundy is one of my absolute favourites for a winter wedding and really compliments itself. You’ll find many wedding items you can get in this colour too, for example your bridesmaid dresses and stationary. Golds are particularly nice to incorporate into your colour themes too. You can’t beat those sparkling gold sequin tablecloths to wow your guests. West Sussex Venues will compliment these colours wonderfully.
Venue Décor
Think mulled wine and warm cider to help you imagine the scene we are trying to create. The crisp winter air, complimented with hanging lanterns from a naked tree. All it’s leaves fallen will enable you to add fairy lights across the branches to give it a warmer feel. Winter candles help bring in that warmth to your venue and look stunning in photos. Hire some white winter drapes to hang in your ceremony room to make it just that extra special. A rustic barn would really bring this theme together and what better venues than in Sussex? Most will come with safe bonfires that enable your guests to roast marshmallows and dip them into hot chocolate.
Wedding Stationary
I love stationary, it’s a favourite of mine when organising a wedding for my clients. It really does bring through your colour themes and gets your guests thinking about what to expect. When designing your wedding stationary, it is best to keep the same theme throughout. From your save the dates, right through to your table plans. Gold invitations are popular amongst winter weddings and really bring that bit of sparkle to your wedding theme. These invitations are designed by Belo Paperie.
Wedding Flowers
You want flowers that reflect the season, however it is your wedding and any florist can supply whatever you need. If you really want that festive feel, how about golden sprayed pinecones from your florist? A moss sphere would make amazing table centerpieces that will really stand out from the crowd or how about a three tiered table centerpiece? Surround them with candles to bring out that golden colour and compliment your red, gold or ivory colour themes. These inspirational photos come from a florist based in Sussex called Nordic Twigs
